The film is directed by Spike Jonze starring Margaret Qualley with an original track by Sam Spiegel & Ape Drums feat. Assassin “Mutant Brain”.

My breakfast changes depending on the daily commitments. There are those days where one has more time to itself and can really take a moment in the morning and prepare a Pinterest-like breakfast, with a good coffee, freshly pressed orange juice, brioches, yogurt with granola and red fruits.  This becomes the best start to a day full of energy. But I must confess that sometimes, especially during the Fashion Week, I do the typical Milanese breakfast, an espresso on the go.

La mia colazione cambia sempre in base agli impegni della giornata. Nei momenti più tranquilli questa diventa il pasto più importante e il miglior inizio per una giornata piena di energia. In questi giorni la colazione è un momento di coccola personale con un buon caffe, spremuta d'arancia, briosce e yoghurt con frutti rossi. Ma devo confessare che qualche volta, specialmente durante la Fashion Week, faccio la tipica colazione Milanese, un caffe e via.

It has been an amazing experience getting to follow the design and production of my own creation with Quattropiume. One month after my visit to Florence to get to know the brand and the people working on this innovative idea of having customers design their own clutch, I was invited in Milan to follow the production process. When you buy into Made in Italy, you buy into the work of artisans, people who have dedicated their lives to make fashion happen. We attend shows, we talk to designers, but very rarely bloggers have access to the  behind-the-scenes of the making of the collections.

These places are where you understand the hand-made label that comes with making high fashion. The facilities aren't anything fancy, the work mess is everywhere and the artisans aren't model looking people. They have strong hands with a few signs on them left from using hammers, sewing stitches and working machines that are older than me. But they are the force behind a whole industry, doing their jobs of transforming the designer's vision into a physical product. 

Now I finally have my Quattropiume clutch, and it feels so special when I bring it around with me because I've followed step by step the creation of this bag. Customization isn't just a trend, it is how people want to relate to fashion now by having their say on what they wear and how they wear it. 

E’ stata un’esperienza incredibile arrivare a seguire la creazione della mia clutch personalizzata con Quattropiume. Un mese dopo la mia visita a Firenze per conoscere il marchio e le persone che lavorano su questa idea innovativa, sono stata invitata a Milano per seguire il processo di produzione. Quando si acquista il Made in Italy, si acquista non solo un bellissimo oggetto fashion ma la lavorazione fatta a mano di artigiani che si potrebbero considerare artisti. Da fashion blogger andiamo alle sfilate, parliamo con i stilisti ma raramente abbiamo accesso al dietro le quinte della produzione delle collezioni.

La produzione di Quattropiume a Milano

Questi luoghi sono dove si capisce il lavoro che sta dietro all'etichetta  Fatto a Mano. Lo spazio di lavoro è un caos fatto di pellami, cartamodelli, attrezzature e borse work-in-progress. Gli artigiani stessi non sono dei modelli, ma hanno magni forti e segnate dal uso di attrezzi che sono più vecchi di me. La tecnologia non è ancora penetrata in queste stanze perché il lavoro si fa come una volta, e le borse vengono costruite come delle sculture. Mentre noi celebriamo la creatività dei designer, sono questi artigiani che trasformano una visione in un prodotto fisico.

Ora finalmente ho con me la clutch Quattropiume, un pezzo nel mio guardaroba che è speciale perché l’ho creato io e ne ho seguito passo passo la trasformazione da un idea ad un accessorio fashion. La personalizzazione non è solo una tendenza del momento. La personalizzazione è come le persone vogliono relazionarsi con la moda. In un mondo di fast-fashion, si ha voglia di essere di nuovo slow e contribuire in prima persona alla creazione di quello che indossiamo. Quattropiume esaudisce proprio questo desiderio.



Io ho scelto il modello Mini 50s perché gli anni 50 rappresentano per me l’eleganza, il New Look, e per la prima volta la borsa come status. In questi anni era prediletto l’uso di pelli pregiate per le borse da tutti i giorni e le strutture erano rigide. Con Quattropiume ho realizzato questo sogno di avere una borsa ispirata agli anni 50 ma con un twist moderno, la tracolla, che non si trovava nelle borse di quegl’anni dove venivano portate a mano.  I materiali rimangono pregiati proprio come allora, ma avendo liberta di scegliere la composizione ho optato per un mix interessante di pitone bianco nelle parti frontali e tutto il resto in lucertola bianco e grigia. Il tutto è reso facile dal configuratore, il quale ti fa vedere subito il risultato finale della clutch mentre man mano si scelgono i materiali e i colori desiderati. Siamo tutte a 3 passi dalla nostra borsa dei sogni.

Being a makeup lover and living in Italy sometimes is difficult. Beauty brands don't launch here at the same time they launch everywhere else. Eventually, beauty brands start planning their Europe domination and we finally have access to them. For example, I still buy Carmex and Burt's Bees products only in the UK, and a few years back I 'd get NARS and Bourjois in Paris. On my trip to New York last year I managed to get my hands on Kat Von D's products. Finally, starting from April 5th traveling for makeup shopping will be unnecessary as Kat Von D has finally arrived in Milan. 

I love her products, brand philosophy and generally, I love her style. Like everyone else, I came to know her through her Tv Show LA Ink. Since then, I've been following her career in the beauty world.   

There is no aspect of the makeup line that I have not been creatively involved with, and this is something that I am proud of. I take part in everything from product development, personally testing formulas, naming the shades, packaging design and artwork layout, to the lettering you’ll find on every fixture at Sephora! • Kat Von D Studded Kiss lipstick - because everything started with 4 shades of red lipstick I love this makeup line's red lipsticks. The Studded Kiss lipstick also has a special formula that gives both vibrant colors and is long-wear. It is also very lightweight and doesn't crack or become dry even when the shade is more matte. 


• Kat Von D Tattoo waterproof liquid liner - This product is one the most famous eyeliners out there. It is also Kat Von D's favorite makeup product. She has stated many times that she is able to achieve up to 40 different looks just using a liner. I had my star tattoos done with this for the image above as well as the eyes. I find its high-pigmented waterproof formula to work very well and easy to apply. It is also easy to remove with eye makeup remover. 


• Kat Von D Everlasting liquid lipstick - Initially, I've hated most of the liquid lipsticks' formulas when they first came out. Most of the ones I was trying a few years ago were sticky and too shiny. While now, after discovering the matte finish liquid lipsticks I'm in love and use them every day, including the Kat Von D Everlasting liquid lipstick which stays true to its name. 


• Kat Von D Lock-It setting powder - one of the lightest setting powders I've used. It has a lightweight formula that uses mica powders (mica is a silicate mineral) reducing the weight of this setting powder by 30 percent compared to other products. It gives a smooth finished look. Like all the other products from Kat Von D it is vegan, cruelty- and fragrance-free.


• Kat Von D Shade+ Light contour palette - because 'contouring' has become the main verb in beauty.  I like the silky and smooth texture of the powders making them blend perfectly.  


• Kat Von D Shade+light brush - the funny thing about this brush is that it comes in a case which pretty much resembles a coffin.  The bristles are synthetic and soft but not very dense. It is a nice functional brush for highlighting and shading the face into your favorite Kardashian. 


• Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer. - The name says it and the advertisement campaign of this concealer also features Kat Von D's body tattoo-free. It works in covering dark circles and blemishes while covering also actual tattoos.
