Being a makeup lover and living in Italy sometimes is difficult. Beauty brands don't launch here at the same time they launch everywhere else. Eventually, beauty brands start planning their Europe domination and we finally have access to them. For example, I still buy Carmex and Burt's Bees products only in the UK, and a few years back I 'd get NARS and Bourjois in Paris. On my trip to New York last year I managed to get my hands on Kat Von D's products. Finally, starting from April 5th traveling for makeup shopping will be unnecessary as Kat Von D has finally arrived in Milan. 

I love her products, brand philosophy and generally, I love her style. Like everyone else, I came to know her through her Tv Show LA Ink. Since then, I've been following her career in the beauty world.   

There is no aspect of the makeup line that I have not been creatively involved with, and this is something that I am proud of. I take part in everything from product development, personally testing formulas, naming the shades, packaging design and artwork layout, to the lettering you’ll find on every fixture at Sephora! • Kat Von D Studded Kiss lipstick - because everything started with 4 shades of red lipstick I love this makeup line's red lipsticks. The Studded Kiss lipstick also has a special formula that gives both vibrant colors and is long-wear. It is also very lightweight and doesn't crack or become dry even when the shade is more matte. 


• Kat Von D Tattoo waterproof liquid liner - This product is one the most famous eyeliners out there. It is also Kat Von D's favorite makeup product. She has stated many times that she is able to achieve up to 40 different looks just using a liner. I had my star tattoos done with this for the image above as well as the eyes. I find its high-pigmented waterproof formula to work very well and easy to apply. It is also easy to remove with eye makeup remover. 


• Kat Von D Everlasting liquid lipstick - Initially, I've hated most of the liquid lipsticks' formulas when they first came out. Most of the ones I was trying a few years ago were sticky and too shiny. While now, after discovering the matte finish liquid lipsticks I'm in love and use them every day, including the Kat Von D Everlasting liquid lipstick which stays true to its name. 


• Kat Von D Lock-It setting powder - one of the lightest setting powders I've used. It has a lightweight formula that uses mica powders (mica is a silicate mineral) reducing the weight of this setting powder by 30 percent compared to other products. It gives a smooth finished look. Like all the other products from Kat Von D it is vegan, cruelty- and fragrance-free.


• Kat Von D Shade+ Light contour palette - because 'contouring' has become the main verb in beauty.  I like the silky and smooth texture of the powders making them blend perfectly.  


• Kat Von D Shade+light brush - the funny thing about this brush is that it comes in a case which pretty much resembles a coffin.  The bristles are synthetic and soft but not very dense. It is a nice functional brush for highlighting and shading the face into your favorite Kardashian. 


• Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer. - The name says it and the advertisement campaign of this concealer also features Kat Von D's body tattoo-free. It works in covering dark circles and blemishes while covering also actual tattoos.

When I was a teenager I had heard that gifting a fragrance brings the relationship to end because the relationship would fade like the scent. It was the same for gifts like a watch that meant that the relationship would end once the watch stopped ticking or a brooch that was regarded as a gift that might stab a person’s heart creating pain for the relationship. Teenagers can be so overly dramatic. And because of these stupid beliefs, I had lots of Teddy Bears as Valentine's gifts and once was gifted a bunny rabbit that hid for days behind a cupboard and eventually was brought back to the pet shop to be exchanged for 2 lovebirds. Back to adulthood and every thoughtful gift is accepted with immense pleasure and we are mature enough to know that gifting pets is a no-no.

While they don't match in scent, BOSS the Scent for Him definitely brings out some strong notes that give a protective feel over the delicate women's fragrance. Happy Valentine's Day

I'm back from 2 months of travels and I need a holiday to recover from the holidays. I took a skin diagnosis with My Blend recently that analyzed my lifestyle and things got real. So starting from September I'm tweaking a few things in my day to day while relying completely on my new creams and boosters to do the rest. Hopefully, by January I'll be a changed person that eats healthy, exercises more and has a glowing skin so there will be no need for New Year resolutions.

My Skin Diagnosis Results:

04 Balance of Power Day & Night Cream: Imperata cylindrical extract( a Japanese Bloodgrass/Cogon grass), increases long-lasting moisture to the skin up to 82% while still reducing the appearance of shine while polysaccharide actively protects the skin from damage and aging caused by harmful pollutants in the environment. The added Cell Synergy Night Complex aids in stimulating skin cell vitality and resistance.

Next, it is time to create a cream unique to your skin's need by blending in  the boosters that are selected based on what is deficient in your skin. In order for the boosters to work at full efficiency, it is advised that only two be added per cream. There are nine potential boosters: Invisible Pore, Firmness Solution, Redness Rescue, Speedy Recovery, Vitamin Power, Anti Jet-lag, Anti-Oxidant+, Moisture Immersion and Radiant Burst.

After my skin diagnosis these were the boosters that my skin needed:

• Vitamin Power: An imbalanced diet can affect the amount of nutrients your body and skin receives which can lower the body’s immune system leaving the skin more vulnerable to outside agents, the Vitamin Power booster fills any nutrient gaps your diet may not, much like a shot of energy and revitalization for your skin. Linoleic acid kick starts the protective properties of the epidermis (the top layer of the skin) which is responsible for creating the waterproof barrier which serves as a protective shield to the skin, which reduces the effects of dehydrated and dry skin with the added ascorbic acids of Vitamins C and E to also aid in skin defense.


• Antioxidant+: Known as ‘the armor of youth’, this is used for aiding in the effects caused by pollution, smoking, excessive red meat consumption, and basically anything that can cause and increased amount of free radicals in the body and therefore signs of premature aging. An infusion that includes; thermus thermophilus extract which is rich in amino acids, peptides, and enzymes effective at soaking up free radicals produced by UV exposure and pollution, white tea extracts that protect against additional free radicals and rice peptides to preserve and renew damaged stem cells.


• Anti Jet-lag: Refreshing relief for skin that has endured fatigue, frequent travel and ever changing climates, this serves to detoxify skin and renew plumpness to dehydrated and tired skin up to 90%. Hyaluronic acid helps to limit the skin’s natural water loss and restore depleted moisture while antioxidant and amino-rich ingredients such as green coffee extract and oat peptides work to revitalize and lift the skin within moments of application.


• Radiant Burst: Restores dull skin’s natural luminescing glow after a late night out or a long stressful day at work. Immureline works to stimulate cell turnover and strengthening the skin, while natural ingredients such as ginseng and wheat protein serve to stimulate and tone the skin in an instantly face lifting effect.

Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Forever Fragrance

As a kid I remember playing the “loves me, loves me not” game, eagerly picking off flower petals to see if I had a future with my childhood crush. It was always my go-to when deciding if a relationship was meant to be, as I put all my faith in the flower to choose it’s fate. I remember anxiously picking each petal one by one, counting ahead to see if he “loved me”. If the result was that he “loved me not”, I reassured myself by deciding I had accidentally picked the wrong flower, and would try again with a new, more accurate, one. While I haven’t recently played to this game to see if I have found my future husband, I am sure there is a daisy app that I could find on my iPhone to re-live this favorite pastime.

In 2007, Marc Jacobs brought me back to my childhood with the release, and beginning, of the Daisy fragrance collection. It was an instant success with the bottle as fresh and feminine as the scent itself. This Eau de Toilette has fruity top notes of pink grapefruit, strawberry, and violet leaf. Its heart is filled with floral fields of gardenia, violet, and jasmine. Lastly, the powdery base is a combination of white woods, vanilla, and musk. This fragrance remains refreshingly playful while still being suited for the sophisticated woman.

Four years after Daisy came out, the highly anticipated Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh was released. With an even brighter packaging this scent is a more fruity, more playful version of the original. The top and some of the main notes of the fragrance are grapefruit, raspberry, green notes, and pear. The heart notes are filled with jasmine, rose, violet, litchi, and apple blossom. The light, woody base notes are a composition of musk, Virginia cedar, and plum. This second version of Daisy is a whimsical interpretation of the original that will instantly make you feel cheerful and bright.

The collection made an ethereal transition in 2014 when Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream was introduced into the daisy world. Daisy Dream not only presented a creative new bottle, but a new airy characteristic to the scent. Its top notes add to the fruity accords, consisting of blackberry, grapefruit, and pear. They are followed by floral heart notes of blue wisteria, jasmine, and litchi. The base notes are a medley of coconut, musk, and white woods. The unique blue color of this fragrance, a result of the floral and fruity aromas, is representative of the inspiration that comes from daydreams and clear skies.

New this year, the Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream Forever Eau de Parfum is the latest addition to the collection. Daisy Dream Forever consists of the same light, airy inspiration as Daisy Dream but with a stronger scent longevity. Top notes open with blackberries, grapefruit, and pear. The heart notes combine flowers of blue wisteria, jasmine, and litchi, and the base notes remain simple yet strong consisting solely of white woods. With this scent Daisy has grown up from her original playful innocence to having a more elegant, yet free-spirited sophistication.
