Esteé Lauder Double Wear

The search for the perfect foundation seems like a never-ending story. But finally with over 55 shades and a comprehensive guide on how to color match I've found my perfect foundation. The Esteé Lauder Double Wear had been around forever with its medium-to-full coverage, and famous among those looking for a transfer-resistant, oil-free and oil-controlling product.

With this latest project Double Wear becomes Double Where, exploring the duality of people as a parallel to the duality of the foundation and how the concept of beauty can't be limited by borders. This is also a way to show how more than 50 shades make it for every one of us, whatever the background and whatever the skin tone can find out perfect shade.

How to find your perfect foundation shade?

Step 1: Choose your skin’s intensity level from light to deep. Personally, I was looking in the light to medium range so I tried numbers 2, 3 and 4. My skin tone was actually on the range of shade 2, but my body is a shade 3. I decided to match my skin to my body given that after exfoliation, sunscreen use and other whitening treatments my face is always a shade brighter than my body. My perfect match would be to even out the face to the rest of the body.

Step 2: Choose your skin's undertone from Cool, Neutral or Warm

How to determine your undertone?

Undertone is the way your bare skin looks and behaves. Which one sounds most like you?

  • Cool (C) undertones: Bare skin has a rosy tone and burns easily in the sun.

  • Neutral (N) undertones: Bare skin is more even toned, not too pink or golden.

  • Warm (W) undertones: Bare skin has a golden or olive tone and tans easily in the sun.
