Clicquot In The Snow: A weekend of champagne and snow in Courmayeur with Veuve Clicquot

It started snowing really late in Italy this winter, and it has been like this for the past years. If you don't believe in climate change just talk to the tourism office anywhere in northern Italy. They'll explain, how the ski slopes resemble more to the green fields in the Heidi cartoon movie. But fortunately, I was lucky when visiting the QC Terme in Courmayeur as it had snowed previously. I found myself in a beautiful all white scenery ready to for a weekend of celebrations with Veuve Clicquot.  

If you check your Instagram feed you must have bumped into people celebrating on the snow while sipping the yellow label champagne. This is because #ClicquotInTheSnow is being celebrated all over the World right now, at least in the places where it is snowing.

The first celebration happened while tasting the new Veuve Clicquot Rich Rose. This new version of the Clicquot Rich that I got to know in Reims while visiting the Veuve Clicquot Maison. With this version of champagne for mixology the recommended mix must include lime, pineapple or Earl Grey tea. The Veuve Clicquot Rich Rose is aged a minimum of 3 years before release.

During the champagne tasting dinner, I also learned about the Rich Reserve Champagne that is released as a vintage wine.

Finally, we visited the slopes but didn't ski because a snow storm was coming. So we ended up at the Super G mountain lodge for lunch and a Veuve Clicquot based party.
